The FSAAFM at AFB Ysterplaat is currently busy with restoration work on Mirage F1 CZ 213. This aircraft is special in that it is credited in scoring one of the two recorded 'gun kills' against Angolan MiG 21's. As a tribute to this, the aircraft is being repainted in it's retiring SAAF 3 Squadron 'Specture' three-tone air superiority scheme. So far the aircraft has been primed at 2ASU and the team is currently busy getting together the various materials and producing the necessary stencils for the various markings.

The following serves as a short progress report on the Sabre polishing project. Currently most of the top of the airframe has received its preliminary polishing with the bottom soon to follow. A new canopy has been procured with the help of the SAAF Museum, and once the polishing of the top portion of the fuselage is completed, it will be installed.
